Last night at Siberia, I had such a fun time that I don't even remember if I violated the main house rule: no cursing (no shit!). Not that anyone would have noticed given the volume of the music emanating from, in turns, the jukebox and the night's two featured bands as part of a great gathering of geeks from three different web-centric mailing lists.
First up were Noisy-Le-Grand, featuring my old boss and another co-worker from my record label days. The music, in a word: RAWK. Started off on the right foot by riffing along to "Roadrunner" on the jukebox before launching into their set proper.
The next band, The Great Shakes, pressed all my art-punk buttons -- angular, edgy, just a little snotty. Plus they played a cover of "Warm Leatherette" by The Normal. Awright.

Thanks for the review.
We are playing Thursday, September 26th, 8pm at Arlene Grocery. A little early but its showcase.
Check out our website, (mp3s etc...) soon to be further evolved at: www.nogreatshakes.com. Thanks. D>
